Brendon Eisner and Kate Ulman have been farming organically in Muskvale (just outside Daylesford) in Victoria since moving there in the winter of 2000. “MuskValley Farm” included an existing organic orchard and they now have established a market garden along with running a free range egg enterprise. This is in line with their focus on the importance of sustainability and biodiversity.
In any given year they produce up to 40 varieties of apples, hazelnuts, berries, free range eggs and up to 30 different vegetables often with several varieties of each including growing heirloom varieties with lots of different flavours an
d colours. They sell produce to local cafés and restaurants and at farmer’s markets. The entire property has achieved the highest level of organic certification from NASAA, which affords the consumer confidence in a production method based on strict international guidelines.
Clive Blazey founded the Digger’s Club over 30 years ago. It is Australia’s largest garden club, helping gardeners throughout Australia to grow tastier and healthier vegetables and flowers. Clive is passionate about preserving heirloom plant varieties which have been handed down from generation to generation for 100s of years.
