Regenerative Grazing to Increase Soil Health & Profitability

February 10 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$100

A 1 DAY WORKSHOP & FIELD WALK

Curious about transitioning to a low risk, low cost system of grazing that increases soil health and still delivers profits?

This workshop is a warts and all look at Regenerative Grazing led by Graeme Hand, farmer and Holistic Management educator.

Topics discussed will include:
– Animal health and performance
– Pasture pests and weeds
– Reducing fertiliser requirements
– Improving water infiltration
– Eliminating erosion
– Regenerating perennial grasses and;
– Boosting soil biology

The Field Walk component of the day will demonstrate to participants how to gauge grass recovery period and stock density that regenerates grass pastures on your farm.

Regenerative Grazing Management is a structured way of using animals to regenerate pasture, improve soil health through building organic material and carbon, which in turn supports better nutrient cycling & improved water holding capacity, and in the process leads to improved grazing profitability.

The fundamental principle behind this management technique is to use livestock to improve the long-term health and resilience of pastures. Regenerative grazing has the potential to not only significantly reduce costs for the farmer, but also improve the land’s resilience to increasing climate variability.

Who is this Workshop for?
Livestock producers and land managers interested in transitioning to regenerative grazing practices
